General Care
Cleaning & Protection
To help extend the life of your Rillovine jewelry, we recommend removing it before swimming, exercising, bathing, and sleeping.
Avoid wearing your jewelry when applying perfume, lotions, or chemicals, as residue can build up and affect its finish over time.
For light buildup from everyday wear, gently wipe your jewelry with a soft microfiber cloth. For a deeper clean, soak it in mild soapy water for no longer than 10 minutes. Allow it to dry completely, then gently polish it with a microfiber cloth.
We recommend deep cleaning no more than once a month. Never leave your jewelry submerged for extended periods, as excessive moisture can gradually affect the gold plating.
Storage
Store your jewelry in a cool, dry place, away from humidity and direct sunlight.
Keep your pieces in a jewelry box or tray, ideally with the anti-tarnish strip included with your order, to help absorb excess moisture and slow tarnishing.
While our packaging is designed for gifting, we do not recommend storing your jewelry in its original box or pouch for extended periods, as limited airflow may contribute to tarnishing over time.
Humidity, heat, and chemicals can all cause tarnishing. If your jewelry darkens or changes tone, this is a natural reaction between the metal, oxygen, and moisture in the air. Proper care will help preserve its natural shine.
Earrings
Our earrings are made from precious metals and may naturally bend slightly through everyday wear, storage, and handling.
If the post of your hinged earring no longer aligns correctly, open the clasp and gently lift the post until it clicks securely back into place.
If a butterfly back becomes loose over time, remove it from the earring post, gently squeeze the two sides together, and slide it back onto the post. This should help restore a snug, comfortable fit.
Necklaces & Bracelets
Many of our designs are delicate. To help prevent tangling, store necklaces hanging up with their clasps fastened.
If chains become tangled, gently roll the knot between your fingers to loosen it. Once it begins to loosen, carefully separate the chains. This may take a little patience.
As with all fine jewelry, we recommend taking off delicate necklaces each day to help prevent unnecessary pulling and wear.
Rings
Because we use our hands so often, rings are more exposed to everyday wear and residue than other jewelry.
To minimize scratches, discoloration, and buildup, remove your rings before exercising, showering, or cleaning. Avoid contact with chemicals, lotions, and perfume whenever possible.
Metal Care
Sterling Silver
Our sterling silver jewelry is crafted from 925 silver and finished with a protective coating to help maintain its shine.
Silver naturally tarnishes over time, particularly when exposed to air or moisture. Regular wear can help prevent the dullness or tarnish that sometimes develops during prolonged storage.
Gold-Plated Jewelry
Our 18K gold-plated jewelry features a layer of precious gold over a sterling silver or brass base.
This layer will naturally wear down over time with use. Minimizing exposure to moisture, friction, and chemicals will help extend the life of your jewelry.
Solid Gold
Our solid gold jewelry is crafted from 9K gold and designed for everyday wear.
Over time, solid gold may develop subtle changes in tone or fine surface scratches—small signs of being worn and loved. Gentle care and regular polishing can help restore its natural shine and keep your pieces looking beautiful for years to come.
Gemstone Care
Our designs feature carefully selected semi-precious gemstones, cultured freshwater pearls, and ethically sourced diamonds.
Every natural gemstone is unique. Slight variations in color and finish are part of what makes each one special.
To care for your gemstones, gently wipe them with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals, water, or prolonged direct sunlight.
Freshwater pearls are delicate and should be kept away from perfume, lotions, and moisture. Gently wipe them clean after wearing.
Although diamonds are durable, they still benefit from regular, gentle polishing to maintain their brilliance.
